We don’t know what the Medicare Advantage Plans 2014 look like yet and will not until the pre-enrollment period from October 1 -7, 2013. But many folks are asking what’s going to happen? The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have proposed a 2.2% rate reduction for Medicare Advantage plans in 2014. This is in addition to the reductions in the Affordable Care Act.
Again, we won’t know what the Medicare Advantage Plans 2014 will look like until October 1, 2013 but I am worried that the carriers will make up the difference in ways that will affect you…the senior. I am worried that plans will lose some of the “extra” benefits such as 100% covered dental cleanings or eye exams. Co-pays may go up as well as premiums.
I urge seniors to take a close look at their current plans and the “Annual Notice of Change” that they will receive in the mail. I urge them to do this every year but I am urging them even more for the Medicare Advantage Plans for 2014. Make sure that you have proper help and guidance to make sure that you have the best plan for you. If you want a phone call from a Licensed Agent to discuss the changes in October, please click HERE!
